Muslim Isn't a Race

Good thing you can't be racist against Muslims. Ever. In any way. (See, because they're a religion, not a race.) This kind of bigotry is totally acceptable since it has nothing in common with racism.

I mean sure it's focused on Arabs even if their Christian or Sikh and sure it has all the familiar tropes of racism including slurs, othering, double standards, Texas sharpshooting, and hasty generalizations, but clearly you can't actually be racist unless a race is involved, even if you're behaving exactly the same small-minded way.

Otherwise I might think we're not actually past all that.

If it isn't clear, We're Past All That is entirely satire. As we tackle the new face of bigotry in the form of unexamined privilege and double standards, the worst obstacle is the narrative that it is merely a few crazy outliers who are still overtly racist/sexist/homophobic/etc... The defense of one example might be cogent, but as the stories pile on it becomes more and more absurd not to consider it part of a larger systematic problem that is still live and well, and I hope this caricature persona illustrates that.

Obviously to give examples regularly of outright racism, misogyny, homophobia, and such, there will be some alarming stories linked. This is not a safe space, and some stories may be so incendiary as to be triggering.
